1.)
THE
BIBLE:
“We believe in the Holy Scripture: accepting fully the writings
of the Old and New Testaments as the very word of God, verbally inspired
in all parts and therefore wholly without error, altogether sufficient
in themselves as our only infallible and authoritative rule of faith and
practice. God’s inspired word is preserved in the King James Bible."
II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:21; Psalm 12:6-7. 2.)
TRINITY:
“We believe in the eternal Trinity of the Godhead. There is One God
manifested in Three Persons; God the Father, God the Son, and God the
Holy Spirit.” I John 5:7; John 1:1-3; II Corinthians 13:14 3.)
JESUS CHRIST:
“We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ;
Who is the Second Person of the Triune God, the eternal Word and
Only Begotten Son; that
without any change in His divine Person He became man by miracle of the
virgin birth, thus to continue forever as both true God and true Man,
one Person with two natures; that as Man He was tempted in all points as
we are, yet without sin; that as the perfect Lamb of God He gave Himself
in death upon the cross, becoming there the sin of the world, and
suffering its full penalty of divine wrath in our stead; that He arose
bodily from the grave and was glorified;
that as our great High Priest He ascended into Heaven, there to
appear before the face of God as our advocate and Intercessor.”
The entire New Testament supports this doctrine, as well as many
prophetic scriptures in the Old Testament.
Among these are Isaiah 7:14 with Matthew 1:1 and Luke 2:7; Micah
5:2; Luke 1:31-33; I Corinthians 15:1-4; Revelation 21:6. 4.)
HOLY SPIRIT:
“We believe in the Holy Spirit; Who is the third Person of the
Trinity, and the divine Agent in nature, revelation, and redemption;
that He convicts the world concerning sin, righteousness, and judgment;
that He regenerates, indwells, baptizes, seals and anoints all who
become children of God through Christ; that He further empowers, guides,
teaches, sanctifies and fills all believers who daily surrender to
Him.” Scriptures on this
subject also are numerous and only a representative few can be given;
John 3:5,6 with I John 5:4; John 14:17; Acts 1:8; Hebrews 10:15. 5.)
SALVATION:
“We believe in salvation by grace through faith; that salvation
is the free gift of God, neither merited nor secured in part or in whole
by any virtue or work of man, but received only by personal faith in the
Lord Jesus Christ, in Whom all true believers have as a present
possession the gift of eternal life, a perfect righteousness, sonship in
the family of God, deliverance and security from all condemnation, every
spiritual resource needed for life and godliness, and the divine
guarantee that they shall never perish, that this salvation affects the
whole man; that apart from Christ there is no possible salvation.”
Among the many scriptures that show this doctrine are John 1:12;
3:36; Romans 4:5 Ephesians 2:8,9; Titus 3:5; 1 John 5:13. 6.)
BODY OF CHRIST:
“We believe in the Lordship of Jesus Christ:
that He alone is Head of the Body of Christ, into which all true
believers are immediately baptized by the Holy Spirit; that all members
of this one spiritual body should assemble and identify themselves in
local churches. I Corinthians 12:13; Ephesians 1:22-23; Ephesians
2:11-22 7.)
LOCAL CHURCH:
“We believe in the importance of the local church:
that a local church is an assembly of born again, baptized
believers united in organization for worship, prayer, fellowship,
teaching, united testimony, and reaching the lost with the Gospel of the
Grace of God. Philippians 1:1; I Timothy 3:15; Hebrews 10:25 8.)
SECOND COMING OF CHRIST:
“We believe in the second coming of Christ:
that His return from Heaven will be personal, visible and
glorious, a blessed hope for which we should constantly watch and pray,
the time being unrevealed but always imminent; that when He comes He
will first by resurrection of the dead and the translation of the living
remove from the earth His waiting church (the rapture), then pour out
the righteous judgments of God upon the unbelieving world (the
tribulation), afterwards descend with His church (the revelation),
revive and restore Israel, and establish His glorious and literal
kingdom over all the nations for a thousand years (the millennium).” Scriptures for this doctrine are Matthew 24:36-42; Acts
1:6,8,11; I Thessalonians 4:13-18; II Peter 3:10-14; Revelation 21:1-
